Sredich, Mike G. – of Clio, age 99, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10AM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at St Charles & Helena Catholic Church - 230 E Vienna St, Clio, MI. Pastor Ken Coughlin to officiate, burial will take place in Thetford Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio from 12PM until 8PM with a rosary at 7PM.
Mike was born October 17, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Mike and Sophia (Miller) Sredich. Mike embraced life with a passion and purpose that touched everyone around him. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Mike dedicated his service to his country during World War II, serving in the engineering battalion. He enlisted on February 8, 1945, and was honorably discharged on December 12, 1946. His military service was a source of pride and shaped his values of dedication and resilience. After graduating from Mt. Morris High School in 1944, Mike built a successful career as a carpenter for General Motors, where his craftsmanship and attention to detail were celebrated by his colleagues. His love for woodworking extended far beyond his profession, leading him to create beautiful furniture and share his skills with those he loved. Mike was an active member of Saint Charles and Helena Catholic Church, where his faith played an integral role in his life. He cherished his family above all else, mentoring them with love and wisdom, and he found immense joy in sharing stories of his children and grandchildren. His big heart and generous spirit made him a cherished figure, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Surviving are: Children: David (Brenda) Sredich, Pamela (Phil) Thayer and Tim (Linda) Sredich; Daughter-In-Law, Chris Sredich; Grandchildren: Angela (Ady) Haido, David Sredich, Brandyn (Jessica) Sredich, Chad (Jenny) Sredich, Jodi (Nate) Smith, Dayna (Joe) Dubuis, Natasha (Steve) Nichols,, Nathanel (Sarah) Thayer, Tim (Courtney) Sredich and Matt ( Cierra) Sredich. He was blessed with 24 great grand children and 4 great great grandchildren; Special nieces: Kris, Mara and Jana; Good friends, John and Carrie Sorenson. He is preceded in passing by his wife, Betty Sredich; Son, Michael Sredich and Brother, Peter Sredich and his "main squeeze" Hazel. The family would like to send a thank you to The Care Team Hospice for all the care given, especially thank you to Trevor, and Paige.
