Mike Widmer
Age 72 of White Bear Lake
Born on August 22, 1952, and raised in NE Minneapolis, Mike passed into Glory on October 25, 2024 surrounded by family. As a longtime member of Redeeming Love Church and master electrician with the IBEW Local 292 Union, Mike was a faithful servant who gave of his time and talents to those in need. Mike had a passion for helping others as support staff for banquets, luncheons, dinners and other church events. He served with a smile and joy in his heart.
Mike worked for Dymanyk Electric, running many commercial and industrial electrical projects around the twin cities. Away from work, there was always a list of projects for friends and family.
Post-retirement, Mike re-discovered a love of the water and boating. Mike enjoyed early morning loon sightings with Bette and fishing trips with the grands. “Captain Mike” was often sited hosting outings with friends and family. Mike enjoyed travel, cruises and playing games with so many special friends.
Mike leaves behind his wife of 50+ years, Bette Widmer; his “girls”, Mikki (Dalon) Schmidt of White Bear Lake, MN; Terasa (Paul) Mayercak of Spring Hill, FL; and Vanessa Widmer (Jesse) of Fergus Falls, MN; Grandchildren Elizabeth Mayercak, Paul Mayercak, Asher Schmidt, Zachary Mayercak and Sam Mayercak; sisters, Ann (Rod) Wangerin of Glenco, MN and Donna Gummerson of Medford, WI; Sisters-in-law, Kathy (Larry) Myers of Brandon, FL, Gloria (Al) Newton of Ham Lake, MN, Barb (Melissa) Peterson of St. Anthony, MN; Brothers-in-law, Dave (Pam) Mills of Forest Lake, MN, and Dan (Leigh) Mills of Hugo, MN many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Service 11:30 AM Friday, Nov. 1st at RLC, 2425 White Bear Ave., Maplewood, with visitation starting at 10 AM at the church.
