Mike Zius

Michael (Mike) Zius, 84, died surrounded by his family at his home on Sept. 21, 2024. He was retired from Bendix Corporation after 27 years service. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Congetta Zius and sister Jonie Zius Webb. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Wanda Sue Harris Zius; daughter Carrie Zius Daniels, son Mark Zius and his wife Lisa; grandchildren Michael (Mikey) Zius, Laney Zius and Luke Zius. Also surviving are six nieces: Vickie Harris, Susan Harris Bryson, Nichole Harris, Melanie Webb Bishop, Melissa Webb Tawzer, and Mary Webb Jones. Mike was an avid golfer and loved all sports, especially Tennessee athletics. He was also an avid cat lover, losing his favorite cat named Ivan who died a few years ago. He continued to love and care for four other fur babies Whitey, Brandy, Grayson and Bonnie. Mike was brought up in the Catholic Church and in his early years was an altar boy and lay minister. He moved to Cleveland from his hometown in Hazleton, PA in 1953. The family will receive friends at Companion Funeral Home Ridge Chapel, in the Shelton Parlor; Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 5:00-7:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Boys and Girls Club of the Ocoee Region, 385 Third Street SW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
