Mikhail Polyak

My dad – Mikhail Polyak was born in Odessa, Ukraine. When the World War II started, their family: he wis his parents and his sister Tanya were evacuated. After many movings they started life in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. When the war ended they were not able to move back to Odessa, because their home was occupied by someone else.

He was very talented and handsome boy, he loved music and opera. He could sing very well. He grew up and became Aerospace Engineer. He moved to Moscow and got married to Raisa Dehtyar and started new job, it was civic Engineer. He was not able to continue his path to Aerospace engineering, because no-one wanted to hire a jew for this profession. He worked for a many years and then moved to USA, when his grandchild Jacob was born. This was new life for my dad and he was very happy and loved this country. He was able to watch Jacob growing, to be close to me – his daughter and make new friends and meet some old ones.

Unfortunately his health never been well, he had heart disease; diabetes etc. He was very happy that he was still alive with all of what he had. He loved life, tried to enjoy every second. He had good humor and very clear mind till the end. He was very kind and sensitive person who I and all my family and friend will be missing.
