Dear friends,
With great sadness in our hearts, we want to share the loss of our dad and husband,
Milan Kneževic who passed away on July 30th 2024 at the age of 70.
Milan was born and raised in the city of Belgrade, back then capital of Yugoslavia, and (today) Republic of Serbia. After finishing a specialized high school he started his career in a diplomatic sector, where his post eventually took him during the late 70's abroad, to be working and residing in Uganda. Due to turbulent political situation in the early 80's Milan returned to Serbia, and after several years decided to emigrate to the United States.
Like many of our Serbian countrymen who came "fresh-of-the-boat", he had various jobs until he settled first in manufacturing, and then trucking and transportation industry. After decades long tenure, and partially due to his health issues, Milan retired in the mid 2010's.
During his post-retirement years, he was spending time with his family and local friends. And sadly he left us suddenly and all too soon.
Milan is predeceased by his parents, and he is survived by his loving wife, Danuta (née Magda) Kneževic and his two children, Angelina and Marko Kneževic.
We already sorely miss him, his jovial demeanor, infectious laughter, and silly jokes – something he maintained even when the road called Life turned into a bumpy ride along the way. Throughout Milan's life his willingness to help and go out of his way for others afforded him so many friends, acquaintances and memories that we all now hold dear in our hearts.
Please join us in remembering our father, husband and friend:
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 3 from 6-9 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove.
