Mildred Applegate Obituary

Mildred M. Applegate

Mildred M. Applegate, 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in Cary, IL. She was born on March 27, 1935, in Neenah, WI, and was formerly of Rockford, IL and Vernon Hills, IL.

Mildred retired from Acco Brands in Wheeling, IL, was an avid golfer in various golf leagues, enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

Surviving are her 2 daughters, Laura (Kevin) Newcomer and Amy (Phil) Graham; 3 grandchildren, Derek (Dana) Andre, Anna (Kevin) Voelz and Jennifer (Jonathan) Plocinski; 4 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Gabriella, Zoey and Addison; 4 siblings; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Wayne" Applegate; and by 6 siblings.

Mildred's final resting place will be at Willow Lawn Memorial Park's Cremation Garden in Vernon Hills, IL. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held at Marriott Lincolnshire in Lincolnshire, IL on Saturday, October 4th, from 1pm to 3pm.
