Mildred Ballenger Bishop, 82, of 231 Golightly Street in Inman, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026 at Spartanburg Hospital For Restorative Care.
Mildred was born in Inman on June 20, 1943, a daughter of the late Annie Grace Easler Ballenger and Yancy Leo Ballenger and was the wife of Charles Bishop, who survives her, of the home.
After finishing high school, Mildred received her nursing degree at Isothermal Community College and worked as a nurse at several local nursing homes in the area and retired from nursing at Magnolia Manor of Inman. She was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a sister, Doris Ewell of Greer and several nieces and nephews. Also, in addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Martin Ballenger, Lowell Ballenger, Donald Ballenger, and a sister, Guynelle Ballew.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 1st at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, with Dr. Tim McKnight officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holston Creek Baptist Church, 311 Holston Creek Church Rd, Inman, SC 29349.
