Mildred Frances Buchanan was born on November 20, 1947. She was the youngest daughter to Samuel Jr. and Mildred Miller, who preceded her in death. Mildred was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She was baptized and accepted the Lord at a very young age. She was one of five siblings, Samuel III, Darnella, Deborah and late brother Frankie. Mildred was very close to her brothers and sisters, whom she loved dearly.
At the age of 22, Mildred met and fell in love at first sight with Fredric Buchanan. They were married November 21, 1970 in a small church wedding, from their union three children were born Tihuana, D'Niquea and Kirk.
Mildred attended Parker High School on the south side of Chicago. She never stopped learning, at the age of 42 she attended South Suburban Community College where she became a member of the National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa.
Mildred had an extreme love for music of all genres. Mildred also enjoyed reading, writing and shopping. She loved talking on the phone with her children and grandchildren for hours at a time laughing, giving sound advice and lifelong lessons.
Throughout the years she was very charitable when it came to giving to her family, friends, neighbors and others. Mildred had a fondness for watching reality TV as well as football and basketball games with her husband, Fred and son Kirk.
Mildred Frances Buchanan 75, peacefully passed away on December 23, 2022 surrounded by her loving family in her home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted loving husband of 52 years, Fredric Buchanan. Daughters Tihuana (Geno), D'Niquea (Sam) and son Kirkland. Five grandchildren, Jazmyn, Taliyah, Jaela, Jashaun, and Samarra. Two Great-Grandchildren, Nadia and De'Vaiyah. Sisters, Darnella and Deborah. Brother Samuel III (Adrienne) and a host of nieces and nephews.
