Mildred Walker Napier Frye, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday December 5, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Leroy Napier; second husband, Doug Frye; parents Abner Leon and Sarah Irene Walker; and brother, Jack Walker.

She is survived by her children, David Wade Napier, Scottie (Beth) Napier, and Lisa (Robert) Workman; sisters-in-law, Wanda Walker, Glenda Napier; and grandchildren, Nicholas (Emily) Workman, Andy Napier (Katie Foss).

Mildred met Roy, her soulmate, while working at McCrory's in downtown Aiken. Their love story began in the aisles of that store and blossomed into a marriage that lasted 58 beautiful years. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and devotion.

A devoted servant of Bath First Baptist Church, Mildred held many roles over the years, always with grace and joy. Her bright smile was a beacon to all who entered the sanctuary—she greeted everyone as if they were family.

To her children, Mildred was more than a mother—she was the cupcake mom. The cake maker, the party planner, the gift giver. She was the pretty mom at the PTA meetings, the one who put more effort into your school project than you did. When you were sick, she was the one you called. Her love was constant, her care unconditional.

Mildred had a heart that reached beyond her family. She loved and cared for everyone she met, always seeking to make a difference in someone’s life. If she found herself in a desert beside a well, she would draw water for a stranger, not needing to know their name. That was the essence of her spirit—selfless, generous, and full of grace.

She was the family planner and coordinator, the glue that held traditions together. For Mildred, family meant more than blood—it meant unity. The Napiers and the NeSmiths were always one family in her eyes, celebrating holidays, milestones, and vacations side by side.

Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the memories she created. Mildred will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine in all who knew her.

The family wishes to express their gratitude with their assistance with Mildred to the staff at Camellia Walk, the staff of Trinity Home Health, Hospice of Aiken, Christy Randall, and Beth Johnson. You all were and are a blessing to so many families.

A Funeral Service, celebrating her life, will be held at Bath First Baptist Church on Sunday December 7, 2025 at 3 P.M. with Pastor Herb Sons to officiate. The burial will follow immediately at Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Bath First Baptist Church.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ladies of Mildred’s Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Mildred’s memory be made to Bath First Baptist Church. 150 School Rd Warrenville, SC 29851.

Jackson Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory of Graniteville has been entrusted with these arrangements.
