Mildred Hale Obituary

Mildred Douglas Hale, 76, of Dayton, passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. She was lifelong resident of Rhea County and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed collecting knick-knacks, playing card games, Uno, Yatzee, poker and scratch-off tickets. Mildred was a seamstress for Robinson Manufacturing and S&S Sportswear for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Paul Hale; parents, Rosco and Katherine Dillard Douglas; brothers, Roy Douglas, Jerry "Bud" Douglas, Gene Douglas; and twin brother, Gilbert Douglas.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Douglas Hale of Sale Creek, Tenn., and Gregory Hale of Dayton; grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Steven Hale and Heather Hale; and great-grandchildren, Eli Smith, Tinley Smith, Timothy Smith, and Nevaeh Hale.

A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Jewell officiating. Interment will follow at Summer City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 at the funeral home.
