Mildred Ann Helsper (Belinsky), 100, died December 15, 2025, with her children by her side.
She was born in Norwalk, CT, graduated from Norwalk Hospital School of Nursing in 1947; moved in 1958 to Pasadena, CA and, in 1973, to La Jolla, CA. In 2021, she moved to St. George, Utah.
She was employed for 20 years as an RN at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, CA. She said of working at Scripps, "I loved going to work every single day." Once retired, she volunteered at The Ark Antiques on Girard for nearly 20 years and enjoyed walking her perfectly coiffed Shih Tzu, AnnE, in La Jolla Village.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Walter Belinsky of Norwalk, CT and Fred Belinsky of Wilton, CT.
Survivors include two sons, James (Sandy) of St. George, Utah and Richard (Jan) of Port Clinton, OH, and one daughter, Paige (James Bisset) of Sudbury, Canada. She leaves seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to your local Humane Society or The Salvation Army would be appreciated.
Service to be held on a future date, at Raymond Funeral Home, Norwalk, followed by Interment.

Mildred was like a sister to our mother, Donna Medwid. They met while young wives to their surgeon husbands who had just started a 4 year training program at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC in 1955. Both ended up in southern California - Pasadena for her and Santa Barbara for us. They each had 3 kids at about the same time and stayed close for close to 69 years.
The one photo is from Richard's wedding reception in San Diego, my mother 2nd from the left. The other from a medical meeting in Phoenix.
Both Mildred and my mother had 2 brothers so they bonded easily and had such a wonderful, enduring friendship through the years. May she RIP. We will meet her again one day!
