Mildred Hildebrandt Obituary

Watertown, WI - Mildred E. "Millie" Hildebrandt, 96 of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Park Terrace.

Millie was born on October 7, 1928, in Chicago, the daughter of Albert and Gerda (Laas) Fischer. She was a 1946 graduate of Woodstock High School. On October 1, 1949, Millie was united in marriage with Gene Hildebrandt in Woodstock, IL, and the couple shared over 65 years of marriage and were blessed with five children. They bought and moved to a farm in Wisconsin in 1960. The couple were faithful members of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Millie was an active member of the Lutheran Women's Mission League and the Sinissippi Settlers Homemakers. Millie was a kind and compassionate woman who went out of her way to give to others, whether it was hosting picnics and dinners for friends and family or sending out birthday cards to keep in touch. Her best gift was the opportunity to care for her son Kevin who was one of her greatest joys in life. She gave her time as a volunteer at the Bethesda Gift Shop and participated in the Red Hatters group. Millie and Gene did extensive traveling both in the United States and abroad, and Millie was able to go to Germany to visit her parent's homeland twice. Millie led a life of faithful service to others that was an example to her family, and above all else she treasured her time with them.

Millie is survived by: her children Alvin (Karen) Hildebrandt, Wanda (Harland) Altreuter, Roger (Fay) Hildebrandt and Kevin Hildebrandt; grandchildren Jason (Courtney) and their children Chellie and Treyton, Jared (Tiffany) and their children Ariona and Tianda, Dana (Jon) Tietz and their children Raelynn and Brynlee, Ryan (Gina) and their children Nolan, Greta, and Aubrey, Kam (Matt) and their children Luke, Mackenzy, and Keagan, Aaron and his children Cooper and Parker, Ty (Ellie) and their son Jordan, and Brett (Taylor) and their daughter Nova; siblings Gert Moritz and Albert (Joanne) Fischer; and sister-in-law Deloris Hildebrandt. Millie is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Millie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, an infant son, and a number of in-laws and other relatives.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 15, 2025, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Lebanon with Rev. Douglas Bergelin presiding. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Millie will be laid to rest at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery following the service.

If desired, memorials in Millie's name can be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or a charity of one's choice.
