Mildred Marie Reese Moody, 88, of Marion, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at her residence.
Mildred was born in McDowell County, NC on August 13, 1935, to the late Elmer Reese and Bertha Bradley Reese. She was married to the late Guy Eugene Moody. Mildred was a member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church and was very much a people person. She was a lady of many talents. She enjoyed making floral arrangements, traveling, and cooking. Mildred had a great sense of humor and will always be remembered for her warm heart.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, Verlyn Conner; three sons, Ronald Moody, Donald Moody, and Ricky Moody; a sister, Ruby Ashe; and a brother, Bobby Reese.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Sandra Goodwyn; a sister, Shirley Howard; a brother, Jack Reese (Donna); two daughters in law, Kim Moody and Robin Moody; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
