It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mildred Medlock Moore of Duluth at the age of 92. Millie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who never met a stranger. She loved her family above all else and cherished every moment together. She was always a gracious host no matter who came to the door, typically only requesting a hug in return. She never turned down the opportunity to dance, cook or share stories on the front porch of the Medlock homeplace where she and her husband, Davis, returned to live in the 1980's. Millie will always be remembered for her kindness, strength, and genuine love for all those she encountered.

Born on September 2, 1932 to parents Robert David and Selma McDonald Medlock, Millie was raised on the Medlock Farm in North Fulton County. The property has been in the family for close to 200 years, where the Medlock family originally operated a ferry across the Chattahoochee that would later become Medlock Bridge. Millie loved horseback riding and helping her family on the farm, where she learned many of the life skills that she carried throughout her adult life. She went on to marry Davis Moore of Decatur, GA in 1959 and raised two daughters, all while masterfully balancing work, family, and her many close friends. Millie and her family were longtime active members of Pilgrimage Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered and shared her Christian values in the way she lived her life serving others.

Millie is preceded in death by her husband, Davis, sisters Annette Verner, Sara Keown and Selma Cheeley, who was her identical twin.

Millie is survived by her daughters, Marian Osborne (Will) and Tricia Crawford (Tom), her grandchildren Ryan Osborne, Lauren Osborne Marino (Jason), Harrison Crawford and Chandler Crawford (Anna Morgan) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life is planned for 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 23rd at the Medlock home with a reception lunch to follow. Comfortable attire and shoes suggested.
