Mildred Joyce Mutchek, 92, of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away Wednesday April 16, 2025 in Marion, Illinois at 3:35p.m.
Joyce was born March 15, 1933 in West Frankfort, Illinois to Anthony Joseph and Lizzie Belle (Little) Borella. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church – West Frankfort, IL. Joyce married Lee Mutchek on June 12, 1955 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2013. She was a retired teacher and an avid Cubs fan. Joyce loved to play cards, take care of her yard, and cook Sunday dinner. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Mutchek and her parents.
Joyce is survived by her son, John Anthony "Tony" Mutchek and wife, Pam; daughter, Susan Hood and her husband, Mike; grandchildren: A.J. Mutchek, Ryan Hood, Lexie Mutchek, and Erin McElyea; great grandchildren: Mariah, Eva, Maddox, Jordan, Joseph, and Molly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday April 19, 2025 in Union Funeral Home – West Frankfort, Illinois with Pastor Linda Mahan officiating. Burial will be in Denning Cemetery on the Orient Road. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00p.m. prior to the service.
