Mildred Newman Odom, age 93, of Morganton, GA, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in Blairsville, GA. Mildred was born May 8, 1932, in Morganton, GA to Patrick M. and Ruth Melinda Hunter.
Mildred was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Newman and J.C. Odom; her father, Patrick M. Hunter; mother, Ruth Melinda Hunter; brothers, Gilbert Hunter and McKinley Hunter; son-in-law, Lanier Waters and son-in-law, George Parker.
She is survived by her daughters, Milly Waters and Joan Parker; grandchildren, Chris (Sonja) Waters, Carrie Ann (Chris) Waters Montooth, and Travis Blake (Kayla) Parker; and great-grandchildren, Rylee Waters, Reese (Jeremy) Faulk, Paisley Parker, Cooper Patterson, and Kaydence Patterson.
Funeral Service, on Thursday October 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Morganton, GA. with Rev. Grady Ray officiating. Music provided by Doris & Roy Hefner and the Oak Grove Baptist Church Chior.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Travis Parker, Chris Montooth, Chris Waters, Jeremy Faulk, Raymond Mull, and Matthew Dalrymple.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Morganton, GA.
The family will receive friends at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel on Wednesday, October 01, 2025, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
