Mildred Schutterle

Mildred Schutterle, age 86, died peacefully at home Saturday, March 16, 2024. A private visitation will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements. Mildred was born October 31, 1937, to Otto and Anna Doehrmann. She married Loyel Schutterle on February 14, 1960 and worked on the family farm the remainder of her life. Mildred enjoyed listening to country gospel music on Sunday mornings, and seasonal music at Christmas time. She liked caring for the cats on the farm. In her final days, Mildred had shown herself to be a fighter instead of a quitter when faced with difficulties. She is survived by her children, Mark Schutterle, Norway, and Melinda Collingwood, Cedar Rapids; her grandson, Daniel Collingwood, Iowa City; her brother, Raymond Doehrmann, Williamsburg; her sister, Olga Hauder, Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a brother, Herbert Doehrmann, and two sisters, Elesa Slager and Edna Stangland. Online condolences may be left at www.klosterfuneralhome.com.
