MILDRED STANDRIDGE

Mildred "Mema" Miles Standridge, age 89, of Westminster, South Carolina, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late John Dandy Standridge and a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was a testimony of faith, love, and service.

Born on January 14, 1936, in Oconee County, South Carolina, to the late Lee and Gerty Steel Miles, Mildred grew up in a home that valued hard work, family, and faith. She carried those values throughout her life, blessing everyone she met with her kindness, compassion, and generosity.

A faithful member of Old Liberty Baptist Church, Mildred lived her faith daily not just in words, but in the way she loved people and served her community. She retired from West Point Stevens Clemson Plant in the fitted sheet department; she shared her creativity as a talented floral designer for Main Street Florist. Her greatest joy in being a homemaker was her passion for cooking for her family. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of good cooking, a true gathering place for friends and family.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Wanda Kay Leroy of Westminster and Glenda Black (Dale) of Westminster; five grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren-each one a treasure she held close to her heart.

Mildred was welcomed into heaven by those who went before her: her parents; her husband; her daughter, Mildred Christine S. McAlister; her grandchild, Donna Ivester; and her great-grandchild, Banks Hollifield, and her beloved siblings. While her absence leaves an empty place here on earth, her legacy of love will continue to bloom in the lives she touched.

A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm, Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.

The family is at the residence, 282 W Bennett Road, Westminster, SC 29693. Flowers are accepted. Condolences may be expressed online by visiting www.sandiferfuneralhome.com.
