Mildred Mabel Terry Thomas

Mrs. Mildred Mabel Terry Thomas, 97, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on February 8, 2026 at Dover Place Assisted Living in Dover, DE.

Mrs. Thomas was born on November 19, 1928 in Lunenburg County, VA to the late James Edward and Lottie Belle Terry. She began her early schooling in Lunenburg County and later completed her education in Hampton, VA, graduating from Phoenix High School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served on various committees. Mrs. Thomas was a dedicated caregiver and a former elementary school teacher's aide for the Linden, NJ Board of Education. She cherished time spent gardening, planting flowers, and baking her well-known pound cakes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Strother, Sr. and Joseph Thomas; and her daughter, Sharon Spencer.

She is survived by her beloved son, Ernest Strother, Jr. (Audrey) of Smyrna, DE; daughter, Diane Rainey of Linden, NJ; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Mabel Terry Thomas will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Calvery Baptist Church, Victoria, VA with Rev. Gwen Starr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will begin on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at the church.
