Jon Terry Thomas

Jon Terry Thomas, age 67, passed away November 6, 2021.
Jon Terry Thomas was born in Detroit, MI to Hannether Thomas and William Thomas. Jon had 7 siblings, two brother's and five sisters. His parents along with two of his siblings Daniel and Angela proceeded him in his death. Jon lovingly left behind Etta, Sherly, Darryll, Carol and Andrea. Jon was also a loving father of three boys, William Johnson, Jon Thomas and Ethan Thomas who loved him very much and whom he shared with his Ex Wife Teresa Thomas. He also had plenty of nieces and nephews. Kimberly, Karen, Chanell, Tiara, Darryll, Damon and Dontae.
Jon, above all, was a good father. His kids were always his top priority in life and they credit him for how well off and educated they became. His passions in life were many including creating hand drawn art, reading, watching countless movies memorizing them from front to back, especially old westerns. He was always keeping up on the politics of today's times and he also loved superheroes and comic books. Jon held quite a collection of comic books and passed them on to his children. Free Comic Book Day was always a special day with his kids. He enjoyed taking them to the comic store, getting comics, and going out to get ice cream afterwards. These are the special moments he lived for. In his later days, he would spend a lot of his free time with his older brother Darryll on a weekly basis, even multiple, sometimes triple times a week. Jon would spend a lot of time with his older brother reminiscing on childhood and young adult memories and common interest. Jon would visit his older brother Darryll's house for almost every calendar holiday to enjoy gourmet food cooked by Darryll and catch up on the latest movies, tv shows and comedy specials. Jon held a high interest for cars and the arts and enjoyed conversations and debates about his entertainment interests and politics. Jon was a very friendly and kind soul to all he encountered and to strangers. Jon held life-long friendships with Markus Young, James Williams, Lester Burns, Robert Harrston, Blaine Murry, and Robert Gilbert.
Jon Terry Thomas will be greatly missed by his children, siblings, nices and nephews, cousins, friends plus those whom he made an impact on throughout his life.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at David Wysocki Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. A committal service and burial will take place on Tuesday, November 23, at 9:30 a.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan.
