Miles Lance Weaver "Lance", 68, of Adams Township, passed away at home on Monday, January 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born November 12, 1955 in Oak Ridge, TN, he was the son of the late Miles Owen Weaver and Margaret Kettles Weaver. He spent most of his childhood in Pittsburgh, PA, and moved to Fremont, OH, during his high school years.
He received his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University and graduated from medical school at the Medical College of Ohio in 1981. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Allegheny General Hospital, where he met the love of his life, Sharon, and remained there on staff until 2009. Throughout his surgical career, he also worked at UPMC, Weirton Medical Center, and Meadville Medical Center before retiring in 2021.
Lance loved spending time with his family, whether it was attending concerts, traveling, or attending sporting events. He was an incredible musician - an accomplished pianist and guitarist. During his brief retirement, he expressed his creativity through woodworking - a hobby that leaves behind invaluable keepsakes for his family. Lance was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Above all else, he loved being a grandfather and was thankful for every day that he got to spend with his grandchildren - he was the best "Papa" that you could imagine and will be missed deeply.
Since the time of his diagnosis, he maintained his unwavering faith in God.
Lance was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving "Papa," and a dear friend to many. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 37 years, Sharon; brother, Matthew Lon Weaver (Duluth, MN); children, Kimberly Weaver (Matthew Mason) and Michelle Weaver (Gareth Blyth); and grandchildren, Clara Margaret Blyth and Michael Henry Mason "Henry".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles Owen Weaver and Margaret Kettles Weaver, his sister, Melissa Louise Weaver, and brother, Martin Laird Weaver.
A friends and family gathering will be held from 10 A.M. until the time of the memorial service at 11 A.M. on Monday, January 15, 2024 at the Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Svcs., Inc., 130 Wisconsin Ave./PO Box 2155, Cranberry Twp., PA 16066.
He will be laid to rest at Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery in Gibsonia.
