Millie Rasp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Freeman Mortuary - Jefferson City on Aug. 30, 2024.
Milada Frances "Millie" Rasp, age 97, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away, Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Primrose Retirement Community.
She was born on August 7, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Frances (Toman) Musil. She was married on May 22, 1948, in Elmwood Park, Ill., to Edward W. Rasp Jr. who passed away on July 7, 2014
After graduating from high school, Milada attended a technical school for secretarial work where she started her professional career until she stayed home with her family. After moving to Jefferson City, she went to work at Scholastic until she retired.
Millie was very devoted to her faith and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Classic Club, and the Hiking Club in Chicago, Ill.
Millie was a dedicated fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs, never missing a game. She had a green thumb and a love for gardening, and she traveled to fascinating places like Czechoslovakia, Alaska, and many other locations across the United States. An avid reader, Millie was captivated by the thrill and suspense of mystery novels.
Above all, Millie cherished the moments spent with her family. She delighted in the many days and nights babysitting, playing cards, solving crossword puzzles, and dining at her favorite restaurant, Taco Bell. Though she could be a bit ornery at times, Millie was deeply loved by her family and friends, and she treasured the time spent with them.
Millie is survived by her two children; Carol Scott of Jefferson City and Richard Rasp of South Carolina, two grandchildren, Abbie McFerron (Michael) and Emily Hafner (Steve), great-grandchildren, Taryn McFerron, and William Scotty McFerron; and great-great-grandchild, Colt Wayne Caldwell.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward; parents Frank and Frances, sister, Martha Bartos (Vladimir); and great-grandson-in-law, Dillion Caldwell.
Services for Millie will be held privately for the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Colt Wayne Caldwell Education Fund, P.O. Box 95, Jefferson City, Mo., 65102.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary, 915 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
