Milton Days, Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and man of deep faith, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Mobile, Alabama, on March 29, 1947, he was the beloved son of the late Milton Days, Sr., and Edna Mae Days. He was also preceded in death by his sister Cheryl Louise Days.
Milton was a proud graduate of Mobile County Training School, Class of 1965, and furthered his education at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force, a role he embraced with pride and discipline. Following his military service, Milton began a long and successful career with AT&T, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.
Milton's faith was central to his life. He joined Heart of Mary Catholic Church at the age of ten. He later became a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he served faithfully as a choir member, eucharistic minister, and lector. He was deeply committed to the church's mission, serving with compassion in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, where he supported residents of interim housing communities and those experiencing homelessness. He was also a proud Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, reflecting his dedication to faith, family, and service.
Milton is survived by his loving & devoted childhood sweetheart, Betty Spencer Days; his loving and devoted daughters, Bettina (Gary) Days Wright of Lawrenceville, GA, and Michele Days of Helena, AL, cherished niece Shantel Spencer, with whom he shared a special fatherly bond and loved as his own. "Poppy" as he was affectionately known, was the loving grandfather to Sydney Days of Dallas, TX; Madison Wright of Lawrenceville, GA; and Kenneth Davis and McKenzie Davis, both of Mobile, AL. Each brought joy, pride, and purpose to his days.
He also leaves to cherish his memories a loyal sister, Linda (Norman) Hill of Mobile, AL, his sister-in-law, Ellen Moffett, also of Mobile; nieces and nephews: Derron (Zina) Moultrie of Olathe, KS; Billy (Valencia) Moffett, Jr. of Inglewood, CA; Chenele (Rashad) Chapman of Mobile, AL; Annae Moffett of Alabaster, AL; and Norman Donnell Hill, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; great-nephews: Jordan and Jerron Moultrie of Olathe, KS, and Evan and Ethan Chapman of Mobile, AL; cousins; Ruth Thomasm Lillian Cheers and Michelle Cheers of Cincinnati, OH; devoted friend, Phillip Moody of Mobile, AL.
