Obituary Honoring Milton R. Garcia
A true disciple of Christ and our beloved son, father, husband, brother, humanitarian, and friend is gone too soon. Milton Rafael Garcia, 29, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2023, in Monroe County, New York.
Born on April 23, 1994 to Milton Javier Garcia & Maribel Trinidad Almanzar, he was a stepson to Robert Maracayo, Sr. of North Smithfield, RI. Milton was the husband of Amanda (Accorso) Garcia and father of Sage, Marsella, and Aldo Garcia, all of Brockport, NY, and Halia Maloata of Honolulu, Hawaii. He also leaves his six siblings, Melody & Jada Garcia of Providence, RI; Elyse & Elias Maracayo of North Smithfield; Robert Maracayo, Jr. of Woburn, MA; and Andrew Placido of Providence. He was a cherished grandson of Javier & Fransisca Garcia and Rafael & Rosario Almanzar.
Milton was a long-time member of VIDA Church in Woonsocket, RI, having participated in many Christian programs; he ultimately became a leader in Christian outreach and missionary work in both the United States (Florida & Hawaii) and in several other countries including Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, and Peru. He worked extensively with the Youth-With-A-Mission (YWAM) and Teen Challenge Programs.
He earned a GED and was employed as a delivery driver for Amazon. Just recently, he transitioned his career to the healthcare industry which gave him greater satisfaction by enabling him to more completely share his innate caring and compassionate nature with those in need.
When not ministering to others, Milton enjoyed quality family time, deep conversation, comedy, and good food. Although he sometimes struggled, his heart was always after God and always in consideration of putting others first. With his abundant gifts of charisma, charm, kindness, and compassion, he was well-respected and endeared himself to many throughout the world during his short but amazing life; he certainly leaves this world a better place and an enviable legacy! We believe that our God has called this 'Good and Faithful Servant' home for a greater purpose. Milton will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all those whose lives he touched.
His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited, will be held on Saturday, July 15th at 10:00 a.m. at VIDA Church, 120 Prospect Street, Woonsocket, RI. [Ample on-street parking is available in the immediate area and in the funeral home parking lot across from the Church.] He will be laid to rest at North Burial Ground, Providence, RI.
For those who wish, memorial contributions to VIDA Church, YWAM, or Teen Challenge would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to the Berarducci Home, at whose website [providencecremation.com] condolences and memories may be left. Rest in eternal peace, dear Milton.

My husband and I met Milton while he was in Teen Challenge in Tallahassee. FL. My son was there at the time. He was certainly a gift from God, gone home to be with the Lord. It is not for us to know or understand the reason his life was short, but I believe his faith was a gift shared with many. Prayers for those precious loved ones he leaves behind. Catherine and Laurence W.

I still remember the quiet and harmonic presence you brought when I met you. And I will forever keep the love and care you had for others as you got closer to the Lord.

Milton had such a big heart and big capacity to love. He was never afraid to enter deep conversation and we shared some really good talks. I messaged him this week to try to meet up again and now I see why I wasn't getting an answer. My heart breaks and I wish I could have made it to see you sooner. Condolences to his close family and friends.

Milton shared the gospel with many people in Colombia and Mexico with YWAM during his DTS. He came back to Mazatlan with his beautiful wife Amanda! I am so grateful for the sweet moments we had in Mexico, and pray for peace and comfort for his family!

My sweet dearest god brother, this life will never be the same without you here. I wish I could hug you and tell you I love you. I learned that in life sometime we take time for granted and when it´s too late is when we realize what needs to change. Lolo I promise you that I will not let time continue to pass me by. I will be here for your beautiful kids and family and I will always walk with my head high as you did. I want you to be in peace and I know that you are and that is what has helped my heart through this. Remember that I will always and forever miss and love you in this life and every life after this
