Milton Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Metropolitan Funeral Service - Granby Chapel on Jan. 5, 2026.
Milton "C-Bone" Hall, Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on New Year's Eve, 2025. A man who personified cool and truly loved a good time, Milton made his exit in his own signature style, departing this world amidst the fireworks and celebration of the coming year.

Born in Norfolk, VA, to the late William Hall, Sr. and Annie Artis Hall, Milton was raised in the heart of the Liberty Park neighborhood in Norfolk. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, he was a man of extraordinary grit, often balancing multiple jobs to ensure his family never wanted for anything; he worked tirelessly to provide them with everything and then some. This lifelong dedication was most evident during his many years as a shipfitter at Newport News Shipbuilding, a career that stood as a testament to his quiet strength and strong work ethic.

Milton's heart truly beat for the roar of an engine and the gleam of a polished frame. A lifelong car enthusiast, his driveway was a gathering place. Neighbors, friends, and family knew that if you wanted a vehicle treated with true precision, you took it to Milton. He took immense pride in the art of detailing, transforming every car he touched into a masterpiece. Even in his quiet hours, he expressed this passion by meticulously assembling model cars.

In 2010, Milton faced the profound loss of his beloved wife of 36 years, Annette Chavis Hall. Through that storm, he remained the bedrock of his family. Milton's most cherished title was "Pop Pop." He was a proud and doting grandfather, sharing an inseparable and uniquely special bond with his grandson, Jaelon. He took equal joy in watching his grandson Jaelyn and granddaughters Milan and Mylei grow.

Milton was preceded in death by his sister, Katie Mae Hall Reid, and his brother, William Hall (survived by Mary). Together, alongside his beloved wife Annette, they created a lifetime of cherished memories in Wilson, NC, a place that always remained dear to Milton's heart.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and family, including his children Tiffany McNeil (Reginald) and Milton Hall, Jr.; his siblings, brother Johnnie Artis (Virgie) and sisters Joyce Hall Shambley (Harold) and Shirley Hall Vines (George); and his "twin" Mary Hall Cooper, his devoted sister who provided him with exceptional care and companionship.

Milton "C-Bone" Hall, Sr. exited this world as the year closed, leaving behind a legacy as polished and enduring as the cars he delighted in. A life well-lived is like a classic car, timeless, admired, and forever remembered for the journey it took.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." – II Timothy 4:7
