It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Milton McRay Suggs, who went home on March 22, 2026, at the age of 89.
Milton was born in Greensea, South Carolina, and spent most of his life in Charlotte, North Carolina, before later residing in Dover, Florida. He lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by those he loved. Milton proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was also known for his work on Holman and Moody-built motors for NASCAR, a testament to his skill, dedication, and passion for engines and racing. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret “Pat” Suggs; his son, Bobby Suggs; his brother, Jimmy Wayne; and his sister, Rose Suggs. Milton is survived by his loving son, David Suggs (Sheila); his grandchildren, Jason, Ricky, Heather, and Kristina (Ricky); and his great-grandchildren, Omar, Ricky, Zyaire, and Emery. He is also survived by his siblings, Bonnell Nance, Barbara Myers (Jim), Lillie Cauble, and Mike Suggs (Kathy), along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Milton will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to his family, and the legacy he leaves behind. His life touched many, and his memory will live on through those who knew and loved him. There will be a visitation held for Milton on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 10:00 - 11:00 am. A service will begin at 11:00 am followed by burial. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
