Mima Herald Obituary
Mima D. Herald of Independence, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 20, 1936, in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Isabell {Turner} and Kella M. Herald. Mima lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and an unshakable devotion to those she loved. She was a hardworking woman with a gentle spirit. Mima spent many years serving in the school cafeteria, where she was known for the care and kindness she offered to every child who passed through her line. She had a special place in her heart for children, and to many, she was more than just a familiar face- she was a grandmother figure, a steady source of love and encouragement.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Steve Herald, Alex E Herald, Arch Herald, Brown Herald, Zack Herald, Alfred Herald, JC. and Kelly, her sisters, Mae Henson and Lois Brewer; as well as her beloved grandson, William Andrew Howard.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Sheila (Bill) Howard and Linda Spicer; great-grandsons, Andrew Bentley Howard and Cameron Robert Blaine Howard; great-granddaughter, Presley Clemons; her special granddaughter-in-law, Brittany Clemons; as well as other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM, immediately following the visitation. Mima will be laid to rest in Independence Cemetery at 11:00 AM, on Monday, April 14, 2025.
