Mindi Lynn Simpson

Mindi Lynn Simpson (Mattingly), 64, of Mount Washington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully, at the age of 64, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Mindi is survived by her daughter, Sarah Wajda(Mike), granddaughter Violet Evelyn Wajda, brothers Michael Mattingly (Arlene), Mark Mattingly (Kristen) and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Mindi is preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Mattingly, father Marvin Mattingly, and grandmother Evelyn Zachary.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Mindi graduated from Moore High School in the class of 1978.She followed in her late Mother's footsteps with a career in banking. After she retired she lived out her favorite TV show "Judge Judy" doing what she loved as a Bench Clerk at the Jefferson County Courthouse. She made many friendships along the way.
Mindi's greatest joy was her four year old granddaughter Violet Evelyn. Mindi was the best Mamaw any little girl could ask for. Tea parties with Violet were her most favorite pastime.
Mindi adored listening to Rod Stewart, rainy days and time spent at the lake where she became a skilled water skier.
Mindi will always be remembered for her keen sense of humor and her ability to keep all of those around her laughing, even as she struggled with her illness
Mindi loved her friends fiercely and they loved her and all the times they were together. A few special friends cared for her with love and grace during her final months. The family would like to thank Rachel, Shelia, Pam, Laura, Kye and Rick for all their support and supplied smiles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hildegard House, where Mindi spent her final days.
