Minnie (Hendershot) Brinksneader, 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, IN.
She was born August 28, 1936, in Tell City, IN, daughter of the late Fred and Minnie (Richard) Hendershot. Minnie was united in marriage to Charles Brinksneader on August 14, 1954. They shared over 30 years together before his passing in 1986. She was then united in marriage to Augustus "Gus" Edward Kuhner, on April 3, 1987, and they shared over 35 years together before his passing earlier this year.
Minnie worked at Springhill Elementary School in Jeffersonville, IN, for over 17 years. She was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Minnie enjoyed traveling, camping, and going for motorcycle rides.
Survivors include her son, Darren Brinksneader of Louisville, KY; daughter, Lisa (Bruce) Benninger of Greenwood, IN; stepson, James Kuhner of New Bedford, MA; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea Benninger, Hayley Benninger-Blair, Evan Benninger, Maggie Benninger, Chase Brinksneader and Jeannie (Robbie) Ramey; and 2 great grandchildren Henry Ramey and Aiden Blair.
In addition to her parents, and her first and second husband, Minnie was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Askins, Otto Askins, Maurice Hendershot, Martina Hendershot, Doug Hendershot, and Frederick "Doc" Hendershot; and a stepson, Ricardo "Rick" Kuhner.
Services will be at 1:00pm Thursday November 13, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Deer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Deer Creek Baptist Church.
