Allen "Al" Widmer, 80, passed away, Thursday, November 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.
He was born October 15, 1945, in Tell City, IN, son of the late Richard and Alma (Wolf) Widmer.
Allen was a 1963 graduate of Tell City High School. He was united in marriage to Bernadine Cronin on July 24, 1965. Allen was a salesman for Sara Lee for over 31 years and was also a meat cutter at Werner's Market for 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his cows on his farm and attending his grand and great- grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Bernadine Widmer of Tell City; children, Diane (Larry) Pfeiffer of Tell City, Greg (Barbie) Widmer of Hawesville, and Shelly (Charlie) Mogan of Tell City; brother, Earl (Sojna) Widmer of Carmel, IN; sister, Charlene Bolin of Cannelton, IN; grandchildren, Sam (Kenny) Whitehead, Molly Widmer, Callie Pfeiffer, Addy (Nolan) Hall; step-grandchildren, Austin Edge, Corey Edge, and Ollie Mogan; great-grandchildren, Mason Whitehead, Lydia Whitehead, and Clara Hall.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by, brother, Charlie Widmer; niece, Rachel Bolin; and a brother-in law, Russell Bolin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00am November 10, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Bernie Etienne officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 to 6:00pm on Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:30am on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
