Janice Faye "Jan" (Shoemaker) Ball, 78, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, IN.
Born in Tell City, IN, on July 7, 1947, Jan was the daughter of the late Richard Stanley and Evelyn (McManaway) Shoemaker. She was also preceded in death by her brother Steve Shoemaker.
Jan graduated from Tell City High School and went on to obtain a license in cosmetology. She was a hairdresser for most of her working career. After returning home to care for her mother Jan worked at MasterBrand Cabinets from where she later retired. She was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church. Her favorite place to be, was in Florida, where she enjoyed the sunning, shopping and the beach.
Surviving are her sons, Richard Ferry of Bradenton, FL, and James (Jaime) Ferry of Palmetto, FL; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Leigha, and Rayleen Ferry; 3 great-grandchildren, Annaliese, Savannah, Erin, and one on the way; and her best friend, her dog, Princess.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, November 7, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with Pastor Dea Goad officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gospel Tabernacle Church.
