W e gather today to celebrate the life of Mrs. Minnie Grady, a beacon of light and love who graced this world from May 5, 1925, until her peaceful passing on July 20, 2025, in Magnolia, Texas. Minnie or Honey, as she was affectionately known, was born in West Point, Mississippi, to her loving parents, James and Frances Collins. She walked through life with an unwavering faith, a strong work ethic, and a strong sense of independence.

Minnie's life was a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit. She was a cherished wife to her late husband, Calvin Grady for 46 years and a devoted mother to her daughter, Dora Williams of Magnolia, Texas. Her legacy extended to her adored grandchildren, Sean and Kimberly Williams of Dallas, Texas, Justin Williams of Magnolia, Texas, and Courtney Williams of Houston, Texas. She was also blessed with the joy of a great-grandchild Keila Williams of Zaragoza, Spain, and two great-great granddaughters Ayana and Amara of Zaragoza, Spain. Minnie's love reached far and wide, touching the lives of numerous nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly.

Minnie's education in West Point, Mississippi, laid the foundation for her diligent work ethic. She worked in housekeeping at Methodist Hospital and Winona Hospital, where she was not just an employee but a source of encouragement and inspiration to others. After her official retirement, Minnie worked for many years for the Rothbaum family whom she cherished.

Passionate about gardening, Minnie cultivated not only flowers and vegetables but shared her "green thumb "knowledge with family, friends, and neighbors. She took pleasure in playing cards and visiting casinos, where her laughter and cheerful spirit were contagious. Minnie's zest for life and her ability to find joy in the simple things were a reminder to us all that happiness is a choice and a way of travel, not a destination.

As a Christian who walked in faith, Minnie knew that her journey on earth was but a brief interlude in the grand scheme of eternity. She leaves behind a legacy of love, a blueprint for living a life filled with purpose and grace. As we bid farewell to Minnie Grady, let us honor her memory by emulating her kindness, her generosity of spirit, and her undying belief in the goodness of people. She has run the race, she has kept the faith, and now she rests in the arms of her Savior.

As we gather to remember Minnie, let us not dwell on her absence, but rather celebrate the profound impact she made on each of us. Her spirit lives on in the hearts she touched, in the lessons she taught, and in the love she shared.

Rest in peace, dear Minnie, until we meet again.
