Mireille "Miche" Jeannot, age 84, of
Darien, IL passed away on October 25, 2025.
Beloved wife of 41 years to Thomas Venezia; loving mother of Mikestaël "Mico" Rousseau, Myrna (Joe) Williams, Torie Venezia, Thomi (Alejandra) Jeannot-Venezia, and the late Tierney Venezia; cherished grandmother of Cody Rousseau- Zablockij, Christian Rousseau-Zablockij, Natasha Williams, Cole Williams, Arianna Williams, Tristan Crow, Thalia Jeannot Venezia; great-grandmother of Gianna Rousseau-Zablockij; dear sister of Antoinette (the late Michel) Joseph, Jean-Wilfrid (Dawn Roach) Jeannot, Magulta Giordani, Myrtho (the late Ducis) Rodrigue, and the late Olga (the late Exumé) Toussaint, Camy (Yvette) Jeannot, Bertrand (Odette) Jeannot, Hugo (the late Julia) Jeannot; also, many nieces and nephews.
Miche was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to the late Lea and Constant Jeannot, where she lived for her first 17 years with family before coming to the USA to attend college hoping for a chance at a better life. After earning her B.S. in Accountancy, she began working with the Federal Government where she had a rewarding 28-year career.
Anyone who has met Miche will tell you that she was a strong, faith-filled, loving, sincere, thoughtful, family-oriented person who would do anything for anyone, whether they needed food, money, or the clothes off her back - literally.
She and her siblings had an extremely close relationship. They were not just family; they were best friends who did everything together from large family parties a few times a month, cooking traditional Haitian cuisine, dancing at every occasion, and traveling together. It was definitely a family community; the joy of being together was paramount. Miche discovered her talent for sewing at a young age and started making dresses for herself and sisters to attend parties. Her love for sewing grew with the years and she sewed everything – without a pattern, just an idea in her head.
She was a loving, but strict mother who fostered independence, resilience, and accountability. She gave all of her children a love for travel and adventure from a young age. Miche met Thomas, the love of her life, and they blended their families on August 24,1984. Their love for each other and for travel took them to 105 fabulous locations, in over 25 countries on their quest to see the world.
Her nieces and nephews viewed her as a second mom. They came to her to share stories, spend time, and get advice knowing it would be honest and fair. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Their time together was filled with music, dancing, slumber parties, making their favorite foods, telling stores, and sharing wisdom to guide their future. Her most cherished gift that she gave them freely was love like only a grandmother can give.
