Joseph S. Kovacs

Joseph S. Kovacs, loving husband of the late Dorothy A. Kovacs (nee Smolen); cherished dad of Lisa (Kevin) Howard and Michelle (Karl) Weber; devoted grandpa of Timothy Howard, Brandon Howard, and Justin Howard. Joe was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. Growing up he was active in scouting and became an Eagle Scout. He was a life long fan of the Chicago White Sox and Blackhawks. But the Chicago Bears was his all time favorite team. While working downtown, he met and fell in love with Dorothy. They were married for 58 glorious years. They settled in Darien where they raised their two daughters and made life long friendships. Joe was a member of the Darien Lions Club for over 45 years and an active member of his church. Joe loved golf, bowling, and camping. His greatest love was spending time with his family. Memorial Visitation Saturday, February 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Avenue, Darien followed by a 12:30 p.m. mass of christian burial at Our Lady of Peace Church, 701 Plainfield Road, Darien. Interment private.
