AUSTINTOWN - Deborah “Debby” A. Kovacs, 67, passed away peacefully Monday morning, Feb. 9, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Debby was born Nov. 18, 1958, in Mission Viejo, California, a daughter of the late George and Nellie Drum, and came to the Mahoning Valley in the early 1990s, where she made her home and built a life centered around family and friendship.
She was a graduate of Mission Viejo High School and was employed with TTM Technologies as a customer service representative for many years until her retirement.
Debby enjoyed beach vacations, trips to the casino, and spending time socializing with her friends. She also had a special love for dogs, and her compassion for animals was just another reflection of her kind heart. Above all else, she cherished the moments shared with her family, who were always the center of her life.
Debby leaves to forever cherish her memory her beloved husband, Gerald “Jerry” Kovacs, whom she married July 11, 2006; her three sons, Nick Kice (fiancée Staci) of Austin, Texas, Kyle Crea of Liberty Township, and Tom Crea (Mariah) of Liberty Township; her treasured grandchildren, Erik Kice and Trinity Crea; her sister, Cheryl (Tom) Kiepe of California; her brother, Greg (Kim) Drum of Mission Viejo; her beloved canine companion, Maggie Mae; and many extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Debby’s life, at noon Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, at Rachel’s Restaurant, 54 Westchester Dr., Austintown.
