Susan L. Bennett

Susan L. Bennet, nee Achord, age 80, passed away February 9, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence; loving mother of Michelle (Jeff) Handley and the late Maria (Alan) Lyons; cherished grandmother of Jeremy (Emily) Handley, Andrew (Maisey) Handley, Crystal (Joe) Lyons and Emily Lyons; devoted daughter of the late Ernest "Bud" Achord and the late Marjorie, nee Fountain; fond sister of the late Samuel (Molly) Achord. A longtime resident of The Timbers of Shorewood where she was the founder of the Welcoming Committee, wrote for the newspaper, bowling, bunco, and enjoyed working Monday night bingo. She enjoyed crocheting but what she loved most was spending time with her family. Visitation February 19, 2026 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 6:00 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave. Darien.
