Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory - Brownsville on Sep. 17, 2025.
Mireya Godoy, 63, of
Brownsville, TX, devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend entered eternal rest on August 23, 2025, at Valley Baptist Medical Center: Brownsville surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on July 2nd of 1962 to her parents Francisco Godoy Godoy and Maria Rosalba Esquivel De Los Santos.
Mireya, a dedicated mother, loved nothing more than her children and grandchildren. She went above and beyond to fulfill the needs of her loved ones before her own. She was never phased by fear. No obstacle nor challenge stopped her from reaching her goals. Mireya was a determined person who always found solutions to her problems. She lived by the quote, "if there is a will, then there's a way." The type of person that spoke things into existence to get the results she wanted. She found joy being a caregiver. She was the true definition of someone who cared more for others than herself.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Godoy Godoy & Maria Rosalba Esquivel Godoy; and her brother Francisco Andres Godoy Esquivel; and her husband Guadalupe Alfonso Castillo Salas.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mirna Mireya Castillo, Francisco Doroteo Castillo, and Alfonso Castillo; her grandchildren, Roman Gabriel Trujillo, Aracely Lizeth Trujillo, Angela Yvette Trujillo, Veniza Anaid Castillo, Abigail Iliana Trujillo, Alfonso Castillo Jr., Merari Adani Castillo, and Aidan Lee Castillo; and her sisters, Ana Maria Godoy, Rosalinda Godoy, Maria Yolanda Godoy, Mirna Guadalupe Godoy, Blanca Esthela Godoy, Francisca Nelly Godoy, Cristina Aracely Godoy, and Rosalba Manuela Godoy.
She will be greatly missed.
