Miriam Eaves Gregory, 85, of Jonesville, South Carolina, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by her family at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born on May 7, 1940, in Union, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Pearl Gault Eaves Ford and Mardis H. Eaves. Miriam was a graduate of Jonesville High School and worked for many years as a teacher's assistant with the Union County School District. "Mrs. Miriam's" fun loving nature and kindness made a lasting impact on countless students. She served as the sponsor of the Beta Club and also of the Jonesville Wildcat cheerleaders.
A lifelong member of Foster's Chapel Methodist Church, Miriam faithfully served her church family through the United Methodist Women, now known as The Church Chicks, as a member of the choir, and as a youth leader. She was also active in the Irving Newton Sunday School class and numerous committees through the years.
Miriam loved going places, spending time with her family, supporting her grandchildren in sports and activities, and making every family get together special. She was known for her delicious baking, especially her chocolate cakes, chocolate pies, brownie pies, and fudge, and for her joy in decorating for all the holidays, especially Christmas. She loved the color red and if she wasn't wearing red, you may see her in a favorite holiday sweater. She was devoted to her family and was loved by everyone who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her four sons, Tim Gregory (Terry), Mike Gregory, Chris Gregory (Kristal), and Chad Gregory (Gina); grandchildren, Aaron, Bailey (Abbey), Riley (Danny), Miles, and Andrew; and great-grandchildren, Aaron Jr., Kadence, and Kimbry. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy Bright (J.D.) and Marilyn Sicay (George); brothers, Buddy Eaves and Wayne Eaves (Virginia); and sisters-in-law, Emily Eaves and Annette Eaves; along with many nieces and nephews, and cousins, whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Billy Andrew Gregory; sisters, Ollie Chambers, Myrtle Kelley, Maynelle Jennings, Waleanor Kirby, and Donnis Knox; and brothers, Tom Eaves, James "Cotton" Eaves, and Kenneth Eaves.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Foster's Chapel Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Lee Coyle. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the church. Interment will follow in the Foster's Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Kirby, Doran Eaves, Derrill Eaves, Troy Knox, Jeffrey Bright, Kenny Jennings, and Will McNeill.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rebecca Lanier for the love and kindness she showed by taking Aunt Miriam places and spending time with her. Your time together meant so much to her and to all of us. The family also wishes to thank her special caregiver, Teresa Means and the doctors, nurses and staff at the hospice house for their excellent care not only of Miriam but also for the care and compassion shown to her family members.
