Mitchell Dean Carter

Mitchell D. Carter, 64, of Syracuse, passed away on March 3rd.

Mitchell's life was the ultimate recipe for happiness- a dash of faith, a pinch of joy, and a whole lot of selfless service, inspiring countless lives and leaving a lasting legacy that continues to uplift and unite those who knew him.

He was born on September 30, 1961, in Miami, FL. He dedicated his life to spreading love and positivity like a master chef, and his impact will be felt for generations to come. Mitchell's strong family ties led him back to his hometown of Syracuse, where he graduated from Nottingham High School and embarked on a distinguished military career with the Army's 2/327th Inf 101st Abn Div (AASLT), proudly serving as a paratrooper- talk about a thrill ride!

Mitchell is survived by his siblings, Charles E. Carter, Jr. of Syracuse and Charlotte Cater of El Paso, TX; nephew, Chad Johnson; nieces, Brittany N. Thompson and Jazmin Carter; Goddaughter, Sharesha R. Pritchett; great nieces, cousins, and his best friend, Eric Pritchett, whose 50 year friendship has come to an end.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Edward, Sr. and Mamie Carter; maternal grandparents, Peter and Bessie Bowens; and nephews, Benjamin Lamont Carter and John E. Thompson III (Trey).

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 1st from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at FARONE & SON, Inc. Funeral Home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
