Mitchell England of Springport,

Passed away at home February 21, 2026, surrounded by his family. Mitch was born in Springport, MI, February 12, 1940, the son of Kelly and Monabell (Richardson) England. He worked for General Motors, retiring in 2000 after 37 years and was a member of UAW Local 652. Mitch loved animals of all kinds and raised chickens as one of his favorite hobbies. He created many outdoor scenic paintings of his own mimicking those of Bob Ross, the famous painter. As the seasons permitted, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping animals.

Mitch leaves behind his children, Deborah (Dennis) Deshler of Laingsburg, Steven (Danna) Lucas of Mosherville, Dawnalee Swing of Lansing, Penny (Dale Gill) Lucas of Mason, Chris (Dawn) England of Leslie, Mickey (Jamie) Shock of Haslett; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane England in 2014; sons, Joe (Michelle) England, Robert Lucas; 1 brother and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Thursday February 26, 2026, at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and Thursday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in King Cemetery, Devereaux. MI.
