Mitchell Paul Gray went to his heavenly home on June 30th, 2024. Mitchell was born October 7th, 1981 in Andrews, Texas and spent his formative years in Hobbs, New Mexico. He attended Stone Elementary, Houston Junior High, Hobbs High School, and South Plains College.

Mitchell was a devoted fan of several sports teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Texas Longhorns, Phoenix Suns, and Chicago Cubs. He was passionate about sports, especially basketball, and was a standout athlete. Mitchell was a proud member of the 1999 and 2000 New Mexico State Champion Hobbs High School basketball teams. His love for sports extended to coaching, where he enjoyed mentoring his two sons in various youth sports.

Known for his teasing nature, Mitchell had a soft-hearted spirit and showed his affection through humor. He cherished his role as a father and was incredibly proud of his three children, Mason, Kinley, and Ryen. Mitchell was also a supportive father to his daughter, attending her cheerleading events whenever possible.

Mitchell was the person to turn to when help or guidance was needed. He had a knack for offering solutions and was always ready to lend a listening ear. His youngest son described him as having "a big loving heart like no other."

Mitchell is survived by his beloved children Mason, Kinley, and Ryen; his parents Don Gray and Suzanne Holler (J.R.) of Hobbs; his sister Mikal Calhoon (Casey) of Hobbs; stepbrother Jacob Holler of Phoenix; grandmother Mary Schmoldt of New Braunfels, Texas; a nephew, nieces and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mitchell will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, humor, and kindness will forever be cherished.
