Mitchell Arnold Mathis, 68, husband of the late Cynthia Moore Mathis, passed away on December 30, 2025.
Born on June 15, 1957, in Spartanburg, SC, Mitchell was the son of the late Norman Orsborn and Katherine Martin Mathis. He was a graduate of Dorman High School and the proud owner of M&E Body Shop for more than forty years, where he was known for his dedication, craftsmanship, and loyalty to his customers and community.
Above all, Mitchell’s greatest accomplishment in life was his children, whom he loved deeply.
He leaves behind his sons, Ethan Mathis and Josh Mathis; his daughter, Brittney Crook (Coleman); and his grandson, Coleridge Crook. He is also survived by his brothers, Lanny Mathis and Ricky Mathis (Judy); and his sister, Terry Bennett (Ernest).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over forty years, Cynthia Moore Mathis, and his son, Chad Mathis.
Funeral services will be private, per his request.
