Modesto Perez Ayon
November 4th, 1954-December 16th 2021

Modesto was born in El Alamo-Sitio, Badiraguato Sinaloa, Mexico (Rancho Viejo as he would say) to Hipolito and Maria.

Modesto came to Oregon in 1976 and worked in construction until his retirement in 2015. Modesto enjoyed having family time and making new friends anywhere he would go. Even traveling to another state he would run into friends. On October 19th, 1984 he met the love of his life, Graciela. They had 2 children, David and Veronica. On April 26th, 1997 they sealed their love with their children at their side and were married for 24 years, but loved each other for 38 wonderful years. If you knew Modesto, you met a man that would go out of his way to help someone in need and would NEVER ask for anything in return time and time again. He was always known for his singing and being able to sing any song when asked. He was also known for his parties and good food. Even though he was retired and not being able to build retirement homes in Salem, he enjoyed using his skills to make picnic tables for family and friends. If he wasn`t making tables he was with his faithful companions Papi Chulo and Baby Girl.
Modesto is survived by his loving wife Graciela, his son David and his daughter Veronica and his loving son-in-law Abran. 10 grandchildren, Isabella, Selena, Anthony, Adrian, Cristian, Julissa, Nicolas, and the baby Meribella, along with his furry companions Papi Chulo and Baby Girl. He is also survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers all from Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his Dad, Mom, and sister.

Tuesday, Dec 21st, 9 am-9 pm
with Rosary at 630pm
Wednesday, Dec 22nd, 9 am-1:30 pm with Mass at 2 pm at St Joseph`s Catholic church. Burial will be at City View Cemetery at 390 Hoyt St S, Salem, Oregon. Reception to follow at St Joseph`s church.
