Modlain (Duck) Minor, Sr, age 86, of Belton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his residence.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM on Monday, February 6, 2023, at North Belton Cemetery in Belton with Rev. Jesse Hernandez and Rev. Chris Guillen officiating. Music will be performed by Modlain’s great niece, Sandy Escamilla of Belton.
Modlain was born on July 26, 1936, to Louie and Juanita (Vargas) Minor of Belton, TX. He married the love of his life Librada (Lilly) Ramos on December 3, 1955, in Belton. Modlain retired from Bell County and loved spending his spare time being a mechanic. Modlain was a man of faith, he loved his family and worked very hard to provide for them.
He is preceded in death by his son, Modlain Minor, Jr in 2018 and seven siblings, Annie Luna, Teresa Gomez, Saragosa Minor, Sr, Santos Minor, Sr, Paul Minor, Sr, Mary Luna and Felix Salazar.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Librada (Lilly) Minor of Belton; a son, Roberto Minor, Sr and wife Mary of Temple; a daughter, Diana Minor and Joe Garcia of Belton; a sister, Oralia Luna of Belton; four grandchildren, Monyka Garcia Benn and husband Justin Benn of Whitehall, Robert Minor, Jr and wife Samantha Minor of Temple, Andrew West and wife Brianna Bannister of Belton and Modlain Minor (Trey) III of Austin; four great grandchildren; Adrian Minor of Belton, Christian Minor of Belton, Amara West of Belton and Isaiah Minor of Temple.
A special thanks to the staff at Kindred Hospice, Maria Flores for her loving care towards my father, thank you to Pastor Jesse Hernandez and wife Linda and Pastor Ernest Minor for all the weekly visits and prayers. Also thank you to Pastor Cookie Hernandez (God’s House of Restoration and Praise) for all their prayers.
