Moe Saleh Obituary
Mohamed "Moe" Amen Saleh, 81, of O'Fallon, IL, born on March 7, 1944, in Mansoura, Egypt, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, in his home, surrounded by his family.
Moe received his master's degree in engineering before settling in the United States in 1969. He was a gifted professional civil engineer who spent over 30 years working for Alberici Corporation in St. Louis, MO. After retiring in 2012, he spent the following 12 years doing volunteer work at the O'Fallon food pantry and Tapestry of Community Offerings (TOCO), a nonprofit organization in Belleville, Illinois. He married his wife, Audrey Saleh (nee Nunal), on December 4, 1992, in Belleville, IL. When he was with his family, he loved to spend time with them around their lakefront property in Lake Egypt, IL, where he found peace driving his boat around the lake. Moe liked the challenge of puzzles, especially crosswords. He liked to read and travel the world, having visited 79 countries with his wife, Audrey. He was an active member of the Filipino American Club of Southern Illinois and the Marian Prayer Group, a worldwide community focused on prayer, spirituality, reflection and devotion. Moe was described as kind-hearted and cool-headed, someone that everyone loved; he was a person that other people were immediately drawn to, he had a magnetic personality. While he was kind and gentle, he also had a joker side to himself; he loved to joke around with his friends and play pranks on his wife.
Moe is preceded in death by his parents, Abdelrahman and Etedal Saleh (nee Elmenabawy); 3 sisters; and one son, Sharif Saleh.
Left to cherish Moe's memory are his beloved wife, Audrey Saleh (nee Nunal); his children, Suzy Saleh Schultz, Wendy Kay, Michael Kay, and Anthony Kay; his grandchildren, Nicole Walmsley, Tanner Saleh, Jennifer Hurst, Jessie Burle, Melanie Faron, Bruce Saleh, Lexi Saleh, and Jackson Saleh; his great-grandchildren, Lincoln Saleh, Carson Saleh, Jude Walmsley, Charlotte Walmsley, and Nolan Saleh; his sister, Nanni Saleh, in addition to many dear friends, particularly those at the Filipino American Club.
