Moira S Rekus

Moira Shannon Rekus, a devoted mother and wife whose brightness, joy, fiery spirit, and humor touched everyone she met, passed away peacefully in her home on the early morning of September 7, 2025.

She was born on November 4, 1970, in Burbank, California, to Martin Feely and Patricia Brockey. She grew up alongside her three siblings, whom she loved dearly. During her childhood, the family moved to Manhasset, New York, where Moira attended Manhasset High School. She later earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Washington College. Her adventurous heart led her to Hawaii, where she lived before moving to Manhattan to become a trader on Wall Street. It was there that she met the love of her life, Edward Rekus. The two were married in Manhattan before moving to Florida, where they raised their children, Olivia and Patrick, and built a beautiful life together.

Moira went on to build a remarkable career as a real estate broker in South Florida. With her drive, charisma, and determination, she quickly rose to the top of her field and was frequently recognized as the #1 producer in her office. Her professional success, however, was always matched by her deep devotion to her family.

Moira's greatest joy in life was being a mother. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Patricia Brockey. She is survived by her husband, Edward; her daughter, Olivia; and her son, Patrick. She is also survived by her father, Martin; and her siblings, Erinn, Shawn, and Kay, along with their families.

Moira was known for her fiery humor, quick wit, and boundless generosity. She could fill a room with laughter, comfort, or encouragement - whatever was needed most. She loved running and cooking, but above all, she loved connecting with people. To her family and friends, she was a constant source of light and strength, and her nurturing heart left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

She will be remembered for her resilience, her joyful laugh, and her ability to make ordinary days unforgettable. To say she will be missed is to say she was loved immensely.

A memorial Mass will be held for Moira on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
