Mollie Marie Buffington, affectionately known to her family and friends as "M", "Molls", or "Moo", passed away tragically as a result of a car accident on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the tender age of 17 years old. Born August 28, 2007, in Tulsa, OK, Mollie was the beloved daughter of Mark and Toni Buffington, and the late Karen (Wolfkill) Buffington.

Mollie was no stranger to adversity. When she was only 8 1/2 years old, she suffered the loss of her mother, Karen, in March of 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. When Toni came into Mollie's life, they were two "peas in a pod." They valued their time together whether they were baking, shopping, enjoying beach time or girl talk. Neither one able to pick out an outfit without the other's opinion. Toni has often remarked that it has been an honor of a lifetime to love and be loved by Mollie.

While often quiet and reserved at times, Mollie was a true "social butterfly" with her friends. She constantly kept us on our toes and laughing with her dry sense of humor, matter-of-fact honesty, and a heart that radiated such incredible kindness. She was a bright light in every room, never speaking a bad word about anyone. Her presence was one of love, warmth, generosity, consideration, and unwavering loyalty. Her boyfriend, Carson, from OKC, who she met at a leadership camp last summer, was instantly captivated by her beautiful eyes, her radiant smile, and her ability to make friends effortlessly.

Mollie had an enormous heart and an absolute love for giving. Whether it was someone's birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, or Christmas, she delighted in making others happy. She wrote the sweetest messages in cards, always taking the time to carefully consider every word she wrote on paper. She shared a special bond with her bonus sisters, Alex and Allie, who embraced her as if they'd always been a trio. Allie and Mollie would end up in fits of laughter even while running the most mundane errands. If they went anywhere together, Mark always regretted sending them with the Mastercard, which ultimately ended up in their card privileges being revoked. She made everything exciting and reminded everyone that is was okay to have fun. Mollie also adored her four-legged siblings, Hurley, Daisy, and Whiskey. Many evenings were spent snuggling on the couch with all three dogs, taking extra care to make sure there was not an imbalance of love and treats.

Mollie had a love for travel, and despite her being a natural on the slopes, she had a particular love of any place with sun and sand. She was always looking forward to the next adventure. Mollie enjoyed the house that she helped build on Grand Lake, spending countless hours on her wave runner meeting up with so many of her Holland Hall friends.

A helper at heart, Mollie was never one to shy away from rolling up her sleeves and getting her hands dirty, no matter the task. She worked side by side with her parents and sisters building a home that would be the backdrop to so many cherished memories. Her upbeat attitude lifted and inspired all of those around her. Mollie looked forward to learning among her friends and loved the Holland Hall community. She was a proud member of the Field Hockey team and was looking forward to playing Varsity her Senior Year.

Among her other interests, Mollie found fulfillment in volunteering at The Common Good (The Hub) and the Mabee Red Center for underprivileged children. Though a life long member of Life Church, Mollie joined the youth group at Battle Creek Church in Midtown the start of her Junior year where she would also assist with the K1 kids during Sunday service.

Mollie is preceded in death by her mother, Karen (Wolfkill) Buffington, her grandfather, Kenneth Wolfkill, and her bonus grandmother, Louise "Lulu" Tawater. She leaves behind cherished memories with her father, Mark Buffington; bonus mom Toni (Tawater) Buffington; bonus sisters Alexandria Hutchins and Alivia "Allie" Hutchins Barnett and husband Corben Barnett; grandparents Robert and Bonnie Buffington, grandmother Wanda Wolfkill, and extended family Brian and Kelly Buffington, John and Julie Wolfkill, George and Tammy Tawater, David Tawater, Micheal and Tonya Tawater, Kerry Tawater, Christopher Tawater, and numerous other cousins and friends.

A Public Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel. A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Holland Hall Walter Arts Center, 5666 E. 81st Street, Tulsa, OK 74137, with Chaplain Christy Utter officiating. A Reception will immediately follow at the Tandy Dining Hall.
