Mollie Jeanette Mobley Owens, 86, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 in Tomball, Texas. Jeanette was born in Axson, Georgia on March 28, 1938 to Dave and Mattie Mobley.
Jeanette, lovingly called "Nett" by her sisters and "Aunt Nett" by her nieces and nephews, was a resident of Tallahassee, Florida for many years before moving to Brandon, Florida, where she would spend the next thirty years. She worked in bookkeeping, for a medical firm, and also owned her own cake business, making elaborate wedding and birthday cakes. Jeanette was born feet first and always said, "I've been on my feet ever since". After retiring, she returned to Tallahassee, where most of her children lived. She was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she actively held leadership positions throughout her life and selflessly gave of her time and talents to serve others. She was well known for her cooking and baking skills and blessed the lives of many with her delicious food and cakes. She won numerous ribbons and awards and was asked to teach a bread making class at the Tallahassee Junior Museum. One of her favorite things to do was to prepare delicious Sunday dinners for her family and friends. Jeanette adored her family and made sure they all knew and felt her love for them. She would pray for each of them individually, by name, in her daily prayers.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Walter William Owens Jr; her parents, Dave and Mattie Mobley; and her sisters, Mary Carolyn Clanton, Jearldine Strickland, and Joe Ann Riles.
She is survived by her sister, Eunice Polatis of St. George, Utah; her children, William Davey
