Molly Baca

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the matriarch of our family, Molly Baca. Her heavenly journey began peacefully at home on September 24th at the age of 79. Molly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. The unconditional love she demonstrated daily will be deeply missed.

Molly was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on May 17, 1946 to Eustacio and Virginia Arguello. She was the 2nd born of 9 children. When her father Eustacio passed away suddenly while she was still in high school she quickly took on the role of helping her mother raise her 7 siblings. Molly graduated from Robertson high school and became the warde secretary at Northeastern Regional Hospital where she eventually retired from. Molly was united in marriage on January 25, 1969 to her one and only, love of her life Louie Baca. During their 56 years of marriage they raised 2 sons, Louie Baca Jr and Edward Baca and 1 daughter, Crystal Ortiz. Molly was blessed with 3 grandchildren who were the joys of her life. Her grandson Isaiah Ortiz affectionately named her "mom "from the very beginning. Her granddaughters Lea and Kianna Ortiz cherished every moment they could with her. Molly enjoyed making puzzles and ensuring our house always felt like home. She was the devoted matriarch of our family and always made sure everyone was taken care of. She would always send you on your way with a little something from her and would be sure to tell you "Que Dios vaya con ustedes", as a prayer of protection over you.

Molly is preceded in death by her mother and father Virginia and Eustacio Arguello, 6 brothers, Eddie, Rick, Donald, Frank, Lawrence and Eustacio Arguello Jr, 1 sister Connie Garcia and her special ahijada Madison Muniz.

Molly is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Louie Baca, sons Louie Baca Jr and Edward Baca, daughter Crystal Ortiz, grandson Isaiah Ortiz granddaughters Lea and Kianna Ortiz, sister Helen Martinez as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews friends and family.

God blessed us with an Angel for 79 years and has now welcomed her back home. Oh what joy and happiness awaits us in heaven.

Rosary will be recited on Wednesday October 8th, 2025 at 9 a.m. with funeral service to follow at Our Lady of Sorrows in Las Vegas, NM. Serving as urn bearers will be her grandchildren, Isaiah Ortiz, Lea Ortiz and Kianna Ortiz. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date.
