Molly Ramirez, a lifelong resident of Watsonville, died surrounded by her family on July 21, 2024. She was 78.
Molly was born on December 16, 1945, to her proud parents Santiago Jim Guardado and Tomasa Zuñiga. The family eventually settled in Watsonville. She met and married the love of her life, Daniel Ramirez, and together they raised their five children.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker, and an excellent cook. She was known for her homemade flour tortillas. She loved listening to Oldies, collecting cow figurines, knitting, and the Chicago Bears. But above all, she loved her family, especially taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Rosemary, Sonya, Daniel, and Joseph Ramirez, her siblings, Mickey Leon, and Linda Chapa, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Daniel Ramirez, her daughter Jovita Ramirez, and her siblings, Irene Gutierrez, Jimmy, Ruben, and Ralph Guardado.
A memorial will be held at Mehl's Colonial Chapel on Thursday, August 1st from 5 to 9 pm with a chapel blessing and rosary starting at 7 pm. Graveside service will be on Friday, August 2nd at 10 am at Valley Public Cemetery.
